• The Pilot monitor and camera can be powered from the Pilot's own 2.1mm DC power jack on the top stage, eliminating the need to carry separate camera batteries.
• Using Pilot batteries to power both the camera and monitor consolidates the battery load and reduces total weight to carry.
• Steadicam V-Mount Power Cubes are lighter than equivalent AB-type batteries with the same capacity and provide longer runtime than AA batteries at lower cost.
• Rechargeable AA batteries start at 1.2 volts compared to 1.4 volts for disposable batteries, creating a narrower usable voltage window before they fail, making them unsuitable for audio and video equipment.
• Custom power cables can be made by rewiring inexpensive Sony laptop chargers with a 2.1mm plug or other connectors like 4-pin XLR or P-Tap.
• Post-production image flipping is functionally equivalent to having a Low Mode Kit, though potential scanning direction issues may occur with interlaced video formats.
