• The Decimator 2 accepts HD-SDI input and outputs HDMI and composite downconverted SD signals, so it cannot accept HDMI input directly.
• الكابلات العرفية لتوليد الطاقة Decimator 2 تكلف عادة ما بين 50 و80 دولارا.
• One approach to powering the tool is to cut off an existing AC adapter and solder a 4-pin XLR connector, using a multimeter to identify the hot and ground tanks, which arepins 1 and 4.
• For soldering a custom power cable, one can repurpose existing connectors from underutilized cables to match the power input required by the device.
• When using a DSLR camera like the Canon 5D, 7D, or 60D with an SD composite monitor, the composite video output from the camera can be used directly rather than going through HDMI conversion.

• The cost estimate of 50 to 80 dollars for a custom cable is anecdotal and may vary.
• The soldering approach requires technical skill and proper identification of power pins to avoid damage.
• Discussion mentions possible future changes to the Decimator power connector design, but no confirmation of implementation is provided.
• Compatibility with specific power regulators from different manufacturers requires matching voltage specifications, which may not be achievable with a simple cable alone.
