A Wave can be modified to include power outlets, BNC connectors, and a backlit bubble level mounted on the sled itself.
Removing the Dbox and top stage while using the Wave modification allows the camera to sit approximately 2 inches lower with reduced overall weight.
An XCS side-to-side plate can be used within a modified Wave to provide balance adjustment within the Wave system.
Monitor-mounted side-to-side adjustment can help balance the sled when modifications change weight distribution.
A PRO Lite sled upgraded to HD with an MK-V gimbal and 2-inch post works well as the foundation for this type of modification.
The reduced height and weight from this modification keeps the sled more compact and closer to the operator's body.
A Wave modification can be toggled on and off with a switch, allowing operation in either modified or traditional mode without significant height adjustment difference.
An alternative top stage can be swapped in to replace a Wave that requires service without major operational changes.

The modification was performed by a specific technician and replicability depends on available expertise.
Fine corrections available with a full X/Y adjustment system may be lost when using only side-to-side adjustment as a course control.
This setup suits compact operating requirements but represents one operator's specific workflow preference.
