2013Forum General Discussion
Was die Diskussion ergab
- A minimal website approach focusing on essential information—name, demo reel, resume, and contact details—reduces complexity and maintenance burden.
- WordPress combined with separate services like Vimeo for video hosting, Dropbox for file storage, and Google Apps for email provides a cost-effective hosting solution.
- Custom domain email can be managed through Google Apps at no cost, with DNS records pointing to Google's servers.
- Website projects tend to expand beyond initial scope, making it important to define clear boundaries and keep the feature set manageable.
- GoDaddy and similar hosting providers offer reasonable rates and straightforward tools for publishing websites and managing multiple domains.
- Akismet plugin effectively filters spam on WordPress-based sites.
- Hosting video files separately from the main website reduces hosting costs.
