Was die Diskussion ergab

  • One operator confirmed that three 12 V batteries or BeBob 24 V batteries (20 A per unit) provide sufficient current, whereas two Gold Mount batteries consistently cause intermittent shutdowns regardless of brand, age, or charge state; approximately 15 A total demand was observed.
  • The root cause appears to be large current spikes from Trinity motors under load—for example at mechanical stops, when pushed to the limit, or from light cable contact at the outer ring—with demand rising into the high teens of amperes, after which the system and camera power down.
  • Calculated power budget: A35 with EVF approximately 90 W, Teradek approximately 15 W, small monitor approximately 15 W, mini motors less than Preston focus control—totaling roughly 150 W or 6.25 A at 24 V; with 14.4 V batteries and higher loads, realistic draw is 10–12 A.
  • Multiple operators confirmed the problem since day one with A35 and Venice on 14 V batteries; the issue does not occur with 26 V B-Mount batteries; on Venice 1, a 12 V camera cable helped, but on Venice 2 it did not.
  • OS360 users report no such problem, suggesting the issue is specific to Artemis 2 / Trinity 2.
  • ARRI's push toward B-Mount batteries with high ampere output may reflect this power demand; operators are adding a B-Mount battery as a second supply to resolve the dropout.

  • Actual peak current demand is debated: calculated at 6 A steady-state versus observed spikes in the high teens of amperes.
  • Whether the problem is specific to Trinity 2 or affects earlier stabilizer generations.
  • Camera model and monitor configuration affect total load.
  • Cable routing and mechanical contact can trigger spikes.
