Adjusting tension and slop in Donkey Box III camera stage controls
16 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The Donkey Box III includes a dedicated adjustment tool for modifying control tension and eliminating play in both axes
- Side-to-side adjustments require removing the side knob by loosening its set screw with an allen key, then using the square-lug end of the tool to adjust the locking nut while a camera plate is locked in place
- Fore-and-aft adjustments use the wrench end of the tool to access and tighten the locking nut located on the underside of the unit
- A camera plate must always be installed and locked in the unit during all tension adjustments to ensure proper calibration
Depends on
- Instructions apply specifically to Donkey Box III model
- User had only one year of experience with the device at time of response
- Original problem description used unclear language making full context difficult to assess
