2005Monitors forum

21 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.

The Steadicam 7" HD-SDI monitor had a list price of approximately $4,850 with an additional $575 for the rod mount.
The monitor appeared to be visually similar to Marshall HD-SDI monitors, suggesting possible shared internal components or design.
Marshall HD-SDI monitors used non-reflective glass and had insufficient brightness for outdoor Steadicam work even at maximum settings.
A technical manual for the Steadicam monitor was available from Tiffen.

Brightness performance of the Steadicam monitor for outdoor use was not directly confirmed; only Marshall monitor brightness issues were documented.
The claim about shared internal components between Steadicam and Marshall monitors was based on visual similarity rather than confirmed technical information.
Feedback came from limited real-world observation at a trade show without extended outdoor testing.
The discussion was from 2005 and specifications may no longer be current or relevant.
