Converting a ProVid Arm from ProVid2 block to Master Series block

18 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.

What the thread found

  • To swap the hinge block on a ProVid Arm, fold the old block over to access the back side where two grub screws are located stacked on top of each other holding the pin in place.
  • After removing both grub screws, the pin slides out easily, allowing the old block to be removed and replaced with the new one.
  • The Master Series hinge block may have different dimensions than the ProVid2 block it replaces, requiring verification that the correct replacement part was supplied.

Depends on

  • The discussion concerns adapting a ProVid 2 Arm specifically to work with a Handsfree-Transporter hardmount.
  • The dimensional discrepancy mentioned at the end of the thread was not resolved, so it is unclear whether a size difference is normal or indicates an incorrect part was received.
  • The procedure involves small grub screws that can be difficult to locate and access.
