Image inversion options on a 235 camera system
18 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The 235 IVS has an invert function in the menu, but it only affects the on-screen display text color from white to black, not the actual video image.
- The IVS can be adjusted mechanically using alignment knobs below the viewfinder on the right side, with options for left, right, up, down, and rotate adjustments.
- Mechanical IVS adjustments are designed for minor corrections only and not for rotating the entire video sensor 180 degrees.
- An alternative approach is to physically flip the client monitor at video village rather than attempting to invert the camera's video output.
- Some external flat-screen LCD monitors at video village may have their own image flip function accessible through the monitor's menu system.
Depends on
- The mechanical rotation capability of the IVS appears limited to minor adjustments, making it unsuitable for full 180-degree rotation.
- Repeatedly resetting the IVS mechanical adjustments for different shooting modes could cause issues with rental equipment.
- No participant confirmed successful use of a full image inversion workflow on the 235 system.
