The SDI output connector on the PMW-EX1 is digital only and cannot be used with the Steadicam Pilot monitor.
The PMW-EX1 requires an analog composite video connection through the AV Out connector to work with the Steadicam Pilot.
Using the standard AV break-out cable shipped with the PMW-EX1 provides a working connection to the Pilot monitor.
The AV Out connector on the PMW-EX1 includes both composite and S-video outputs via the same break-out cable.

Solution applies specifically to PMW-EX1 and V1U camera models.
The issue stems from Sony cameras using digital SDI outputs that require analog adapters for legacy monitoring equipment.
Configuration attempts with YPbPr/SDI settings alone will not resolve the connection problem without using the analog outputs.
