A PDL digital level can lose synchronization when the video tap signal is too weak, resulting in distortion and black lines on the monitor display.
When a weak video tap signal causes PDL sync loss, switching the tap to black and white mode can temporarily resolve the issue until the tap is replaced.
The PDL unit can be reset to factory settings by turning off power, holding the UP button, powering the unit back on while holding UP for 15 seconds, and ensuring a video signal is present during the power-up process.

The black and white mode workaround is temporary and requires eventual tap replacement for permanent resolution.
The reset procedure requires an active video signal to be present when powering up the unit for it to work correctly.
