Detecting fraudulent used-equipment listings: copied photos and text in a Trinity 1 sale.

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • A used ARRI Trinity 1 was advertised with photographs and description copied from a previous year's listing; the images showed the original owner's name engraved in the equipment case.
  • The actual device in the photographs belonged to a different operator and was not for sale; the listing was removed after a community member flagged it, and the seller was later removed from the group.
  • Buyers of used stabilizers should verify current photographs of the actual equipment, cross-check serial numbers, confirm the seller's ownership history, and contact group administrators if suspicious.
  • Offering used gear with photographs not taken by the seller is considered a community standard violation, even if the seller claims misunderstanding.
