ARRI Artemis 2 sled with Volt post, gimbal options, and comparison with Artemis 1, Trinity 2, and third-party stabilizers.
Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found
- One operator reports using Artemis 2 and Artemis 1 with Volt for several years, describing the combination as smooth and a worthwhile investment.
- A short Volt post is available for Artemis configurations to accommodate heavier camera setups.
- The MK-V gimbal can be fitted to a standard 1.8-inch Artemis post, and operators consider it superior to the Tiffen gimbal for that mounting.
- Tiffen's upcoming Axis Volt is a 3-axis gimbal system with pan capability, but one experienced operator notes it changes the operational feel and disconnects the user from direct rig control compared to the current Volt support system.
- Several operators prefer the current Volt configuration as a support tool rather than a full 3-axis gimbal, valuing the traditional Steadicam® operator control.
- The MK-V Level is available as a complementary tool for Artemis 2 setups.
- One operator prefers the Artemis 2 with Volt over the Betz Tools Wave stabilizer.
Depends on
- Assessments are based on operator experience and preference rather than technical specification testing.
- Post compatibility varies between Artemis 1, Artemis 2, and Trinity 2 configurations.
- Some gimbal upgrades are currently limited to specific sled models or not yet released for all platforms.
- The choice between gimbal systems depends on operational priorities: direct operator control versus automated stabilization.
