Parallel wiring of multiple modern Steadicam® batteries for extended runtime without voltage loss.
What the thread found
- Modern batteries must be decoupled with diodes when wired in parallel, otherwise one battery sees the other as a load and shuts down due to high current draw.
- Standard diodes cause voltage drop and heat dissipation during parallel operation.
- An accessory manufacturer (Cramped Attic) offers a three-way parallel block with ideal-diode circuitry for the PRO Battery Hanger 2 and 3 that introduces virtually no voltage loss and combines all three battery slots into a single 12 V source.
Depends on
- Applies to modern Steadicam® battery designs with the PRO Battery Hanger 2 and 3.
