Mounting an Archos 605 recorder on a snowmobile sled

16 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.

What the thread found

  • The recorder should be positioned where the operator can easily access its controls and menus, or positioned for weight distribution if using a remote control
  • A travel adapter that accepts video input on one connector and provides charging on another connector can be used to input video to the Archos 605 without requiring a docking bracket
  • Mounting the recorder on a monitor arm allows the screen to remain visible and the control buttons to stay accessible during operation

Depends on

  • The advice is specific to the Archos 605 model and XCS Ultimate 2 sled
  • No final decision was documented regarding the optimal bracket location between the battery area or above the batteries
