The Sony Z7U operates on 7.2V batteries while IDX batteries supply 12V, making direct connection incompatible without a voltage regulator.
A voltage regulator can potentially be installed to step down 12V to the required 7.2V for camera operation, though this requires additional research and modification.
Flying the camera's onboard battery is a simpler and safer alternative to modifying cables, with the added benefit that the camera's weight contributes to the rig's balance.

The voltage regulator solution was not fully explored or confirmed in this discussion.
