Volt battery compatibility with Artemis sled and prospects for Volt 3 adapter solutions.
Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.
What the thread found
- Volt 2 can be adapted to work with Artemis post-stage systems, though not officially supported by Tiffen.
- Volt 3 is integrated into the M2 top stage as part of the control electronics and will not have a direct Artemis-compatible version.
- An external Volt 3 adapter for older sleds like GPI and XCS may be developed by Tiffen, potentially 12–18 months after M2 Volt 3 release.
- Volt 3's architecture differs from Volt 2: the control brain is built into the M2 stage rather than supplied as a separate box.
Depends on
- Timeline for Volt 3 external adapter is speculative and dependent on Tiffen's product roadmap.
- Volt 2 use on Artemis is undocumented; success may depend on post-stage mounting geometry and power distribution.
