Jr. monitor displaying solid white screen despite confirmed video signal output

20 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.

What the thread found

  • A solid white display image on the Jr. monitor indicates a problem other than power loss, since a power issue would result in no image at all
  • When the same video cable produces correct output on a television, the camera and cable are functioning properly and the issue lies with the Jr. monitor itself
  • Internal wiring connections between the top stage and monitor should be inspected for loose solder joints or physical damage as a potential cause of display failure

Depends on

  • The Jr. monitor does not have brightness or contrast controls that could be adjusted
  • The specific cause of the white screen was not determined in this discussion
  • No solution was confirmed to have resolved the problem
