Master series arm elbow hitting arm section and creating noise

14 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.

DisputedParticipants disagreed and reached no conclusion. Read the findings as positions, not as an answer.

What the thread found

  • The elbow joint on the Master series arm can strike against the end of the arm section nearest the vest, causing a clunking sound
  • Asymmetrical rubber padding on the arm section can leave one side unprotected, allowing the elbow to make contact on that side
  • Self-adhesive rubber pads or door bumpers from general retail stores can be applied to the unpadded side to dampen impact noise

Depends on

  • The solution of adding rubber pads is described as a workaround rather than a permanent factory fix
  • Some participants questioned whether the noise and contact behavior is actually normal for this arm model
  • Discussion did not establish whether both sides should have equal padding from the factory
