Most film schools do not teach Steadicam operation, but a few institutions offer it including one in Pennsylvania with Flyer models and one in Georgia with an Ultra model
Dedicated Steadicam workshops are recommended as a primary learning path over relying on film school programs
The advantage of attending a film school with Steadicam access is having constant availability to practice with equipment when personal ownership is not affordable
Traveling one to two hours for a workshop is a reasonable distance that many aspiring operators undertake for training
When selecting a film school, the presence of Steadicam training should not be the only deciding factor in choosing where to attend

Information about which schools offer Steadicam training is incomplete and based on knowledge from 2009
Geographic availability of workshops varies by location
Personal financial situation affects whether film school or workshop attendance is feasible
