Creaking noise during drop time on camera sleds

14 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.

What the thread found

  • Creaking sounds during drop time checks and panning may originate from a loose glue connection between the top stage and the post.
  • The issue is more likely to occur with longer or heavier configurations than with shorter practice setups.
  • The noise can be heard on both Ultra 1 and Ultra 2 sled models.

Depends on

  • The exact source of the noise was not definitively identified in this discussion.
  • Only reported during drop time operations, not in all use cases.
  • One user suspects the top stage but had not conclusively diagnosed the problem at time of posting.
