Mounting dual BFD wireless focus receivers on Master Series follow focus rigs
19 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The Master Series top stage nose section can be removed by unscrewing four screws on the inside rear, allowing access to the metal lid underneath
- Flipping the nose section upside-down positions the metal lid on the bottom, making it suitable for drilling and mounting receiver brackets
- A dual BFD receiver bracket designed for PRO series rigs can be adapted to Master Series rigs by reversing the nose section and drilling mounting holes through the metal lid
- This mounting method keeps the receiver bracket secure and organized while maintaining clear access to calibration controls on the receivers
- Professional shops can perform this modification by drilling and installing the bracket for a fee
Depends on
- This solution applies specifically to Master Series follow focus rigs
- The nose section appears to be made from plastic (possibly delrin) which is less ideal for drilling than the metal lid
- Success depends on symmetric screw patterns in the nose section design
- The bracket used was originally designed for PRO series rigs, requiring adaptation
