Re-centering a Tiffen Archer 2 gimbal via hidden adjustment screws under yoke caps

What the thread found

  • The Tiffen Archer 2 gimbal can be re-centered despite having no visible screws on top; adjustment screws are located beneath removable caps on the left and right sides of the yoke.
  • The caps can be pried off carefully with a small watchmaker's flat-head screwdriver and will click back into place after removal.
  • If the gimbal drifts out of center over time, applying a weak threadlocker compound (purple) to the adjustment screw threads and allowing approximately 12 hours cure time will help maintain the setting.
  • The re-centering procedure takes some time but is effective; a PDF guide circulates in the operator community documenting the process.

Depends on

  • Drift over time depends on frequency of use and vibration exposure
  • Threadlocker effectiveness depends on proper cure time before operation
