Cinetronic Gen 2 monitor fails to display image despite power indication
12 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- When the monitor powers on but shows only a black screen with no logo appearing, disconnecting any connected level device may resolve the issue.
- A black screen with powered-on buttons could indicate the device is stuck in a software upgrade standby mode, which normally requires simultaneous pressing of MENU and POWER buttons to access.
- Backlight failure can occur where the monitor functions internally but the display appears almost completely black, and this may sometimes resolve itself through repeated power cycling and menu navigation.
- Shining a bright flashlight at the screen can help diagnose whether a backlight failure is the problem by revealing a faint image.
- Internal components working loose inside the housing can cause display failures and may require physical inspection and repair by the manufacturer.
- Firmware reinstallation followed by factory reset and repeated firmware updates has resolved display issues in some cases.
- Software issues may require access to a computer for firmware troubleshooting and may necessitate sending the monitor to the manufacturer for replacement if other solutions fail.
