Eliminating low-frequency vibrations in Cinetronic monitor rod setups with PRO posts

13 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.

What the thread found

  • Low-frequency vibrations from monitor rod assemblies can originate from the plastic sleeve on the PRO post that extends the lower section to 1.5 inches.
  • Orienting the slot cut in the plastic sleeve toward the back of the assembly rather than to the side eliminates the vibration effect.
  • Positioning the clamp in the middle of the plastic sleeve provides greater stability than mounting it near either end of the sleeve.

Depends on

  • Solution applies specifically to Cinetronic monitor rods paired with PRO posts and sleds.
  • The workaround maintains versatility for moving rods to the main post, whereas using a smaller post insert would have eliminated the need for the plastic sleeve entirely but reduced flexibility.
  • Findings are based on one user's troubleshooting and individual experience.
