Upgrading a Master Series sled to HD-SDI and Anton Bauer power
12 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- HD video lines can be run down the post and terminated at a connector on the base, with enough slack to accommodate post telescoping
- Anton Bauer battery plate installation requires swapping the existing plate and reconnecting wires, with secure mounting being the main challenge
- Removing the K section from a Master Series sled reduces available counterweight extension, potentially limiting camera weight capacity unless multiple additional batteries are added
- Keeping the K section provides better counterweight positioning for full-size camera setups like Alexa
- A complete sled rebuild with home run HD lines in a custom harness and simplified housing is possible but requires specialized modification skills
Depends on
- Discussion focuses on Master Series sleds specifically
- Cost estimates for upgrades not provided
- Two-voltage 24V Anton Bauer setup question raised but not fully resolved
- Modifications are advanced customization projects requiring experienced technicians
- Thread from 2014, specific equipment and vendor information may be outdated
