Hand-held camera support using suspender rig attachment for back-mounted vest
19 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- A suspender rig attachment can redistribute weight from the operator's shoulder during hand-held intensive work
- The system suspends the camera from a pivot point above its center of gravity, which can cause pendulum-like swinging when the operator moves or steps
- Camera tilt and angular shifts occur when forward body movement translates through the high pivot point above the operator's center of gravity
- The rig requires assistant support for loading both the camera and suspender arm onto the vest
- Height clearance becomes an issue in spaces with low doorways when using the suspender rig
Depends on
- Experience limited to individual trial on feature film a couple of years prior to discussion
- Comparison made to EasyRig system but specific differences not detailed
- Design update or replacement unit was reportedly in development at time of discussion
