Converting a Masters Series Broadcast sled power system from lower voltage to 24V capability
15 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- When converting to 24V, positive and negative connections should be made to the camera power connector at specific pins rather than arbitrary locations.
- An existing orange wire found in the camera power connector may already serve a purpose in the harness, so tracing it before assuming it is available for reuse is necessary.
- A harness junction exists at the base of the post that distributes wiring from battery connections to the camera connectors.
- Correct battery series connection is essential to achieve the desired 24V output at the camera connectors.
- Reversed wires during initial installation will prevent voltage from appearing at the camera connectors, but this can be corrected without permanent damage if caught immediately.
Depends on
- The specific pin assignments and series connection method were not clearly documented in the original schematic available to the user.
- The internal wiring configuration of this particular sled model may require tracing existing paths rather than using a simple parallel approach.
