Mounting a Canon 7D camera on a Flyer LE stabilizer for handheld video work
16 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- A Canon 7D with lens may be too light for a Flyer LE arm to drop comfortably without additional weight
- Adding extra weights to the stabilizer sled and opening the arms wider can help balance a 7D on a Flyer LE
- Weighted plates mounted between the camera and its mount can increase effective camera mass on the rig
- Video output capabilities of the 7D were discussed in separate forum threads
Depends on
- The poster had no modifications to their Flyer LE at the time
- Specific details about the weights used, arm opening amounts, and weighted plate configurations were not provided
- The exact lens used with the 7D was not specified
- Experience reported was with a Flyer LE, which may differ from other steadicam models
- Previous successful 7D deployment was on a Pilot model, not a Flyer LE
