PAG Charger AR304 rapid light cycling issue caused by overheating
20 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- When the AR304 charger rapidly cycles through all lights upon connecting batteries, the device is overheating and requires unplugging and cooling down before use can resume.
- Obstructed ventilation slots on the charger can cause overheating and the cycling light behavior.
- Allowing the overheated charger to cool does not result in permanent damage to the unit.
Depends on
- The overheating behavior and its resolution are documented in the charger manual section 5.13 but can be difficult to locate.
- The specific cause (blocked vents versus internal heat buildup) was not definitively confirmed in this discussion.
