Difference between Lightweight Mini Vest and Compact Vest for Steadicam Flyer
18 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The Compact Vest is the smaller version of the Mini Vest.
- The Lightweight Mini designation refers to a previous Steadicam model generation, not to the size suitability for small people.
- The Compact Vest is the small-sized vest option.
- Unless the user is very small in stature, the Mini Vest is the appropriate choice.
- How the vest is used matters more than choosing based on size alone.
Depends on
- Discussion includes some joking and sarcasm that muddies the technical clarity.
- The terminology confusion arose because availability at the retailer only showed two specific models rather than a full product range.
- No specifications or exact measurements are provided to clarify sizing differences.
