Quicktime blocked by Windows DEP after Vista Service Pack

Data Execution Prevention in Windows Vista can prevent Quicktime from running after a Service Pack update
Adding an exception for Quicktime through System Properties (sysdm.cpl > Advanced > Performance > Data Execution Prevention > Add) may resolve the blocking, though success is not guaranteed
