Published cookbook settings for the Merlin stabilizer with HV30 camera do not match what users report as working in practice.
One user reported successful stabilizer performance with a stock HV30 using these settings: mount plate at zero, finish-end weight on nose, two full weights plus start and finish weight on bottom, and arc set to full positive.
Reported settings produced smooth, balanced flight performance according to the person who configured the setup.

The successful settings were only tested on one specific HV30 unit and may vary with individual camera or stabilizer units.
