Compatibility of Anton Bauer Lifesaver Quad Fast Charger with digital Trimpac batteries
20 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
DisputedParticipants disagreed and reached no conclusion. Read the findings as positions, not as an answer.
What the thread found
- Digital Trimpac batteries require a digital charger with an LCD display to charge properly, rather than an older charger model
- Newer digital batteries generally will not charge on older chargers due to differences in Eprom chips between battery and charger generations
- An InterActive charger is needed to charge digital Trimpac batteries
- Some users report owning quad chargers without LCD displays that successfully charge digital Trimpacs
- Having two dual-port chargers instead of one quad charger provides redundancy if one unit fails and allows simultaneous charging of multiple battery sets
- The Anton Bauer Titan TWQ is a four-position charger that charges all ports simultaneously rather than sequentially and works with all Anton Bauer chemistry batteries
Depends on
- The thread contains a contradiction regarding whether LCD display is required for digital Trimpac charging
- User experience reports are anecdotal and lack complete technical specifications
- The year 2006 means technology comparisons may be outdated
