Arri LF camera experiencing random power-downs and reboots during production
What the thread found
- A camera powered down and rebooted intermittently during a fourteen-week shoot, particularly when not actively rolling or between setups, and the issue persisted across two different camera bodies
- Voltage drops from auxiliary electronics powering up can trigger camera reboots even if the drop lasts only milliseconds, as the camera interprets this as a power loss
- Similar power cycling issues have been reported with other camera models when combining them with rig electronics like inverters running at different voltages
- The problem occurred on rigs powered by batteries as well as by external power blocks
- Exhaustive wiring inspection by a service center found no identifiable faults in the rig's cabling or connections
Depends on
- The root cause was never definitively identified or resolved in this case
- No confirmation that jumper block configuration actually resolved the power issues, only that one configuration was used without problems
- Whether the issue is specific to certain PRO rig versions or electronics combinations remains unclear
- The role of the Teradek transmitter power draw in contributing to voltage instability was not investigated
