Travel case protection for golf carts during air transport
12 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- A cordura travel case provides additional protection beyond the cart's own collapsible design
- The case has a specific orientation with front and back that are hard to distinguish, and TSA personnel may reassemble it incorrectly
- Marking the case with tape and arrows indicating wheel position helps prevent incorrect reassembly by airport staff
- Side handles on travel cases may be under-reinforced and vulnerable to damage during handling by airport personnel
- Repeated air travel exposes carts to scratches and dents despite protective cases
Depends on
- Specific experiences reported for Scout 31 and Echo 48 models from 2014
- Handle durability issue may have been addressed in newer versions
- Advice based on individual travel experience rather than systematic testing
