Master series arm bottom section produces clunking sounds at boom end positions

What the thread found

  • The Master arm bottom section may snap or clunk when reaching the top and bottom limits of the boom range.
  • Operator posture and body lean can influence whether the bottom section pops up, as the Master arm is designed to be very isoelastic which makes it more sensitive to operator positioning.
  • Increasing the tension setting on the arm may reduce or eliminate the clunking behavior at the end positions.
  • Having the upper arm section lead during operation can help avoid triggering the end-point snap on the bottom section.

Depends on

  • The original poster was new to operating this equipment and had not yet tuned the arm properly.
  • No confirmation provided that any of the suggested solutions fully resolved the issue.
  • The problem persisted regardless of operator lean direction according to the original poster's testing.
