Stripped threads in G-70 arm top part attachment point
18 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The screw hole threads in the top part of a G-70 arm can wear out and strip despite minimal use, potentially after just one or two removals and reinstallations.
- Using longer screws of the same diameter and thread pitch may allow engagement with undamaged threads deeper in the hole, avoiding the need for immediate part replacement.
- Contacting the manufacturer's customer service is the recommended approach for obtaining properly sized replacement screws or determining if component replacement is necessary.
Depends on
- This was reported as a recurring issue but experienced by only a limited number of users at the time of the thread.
- The exact cause of premature thread wear remains unclear, though one instance was attributed to screws that were too short for the depth of the threaded hole.
