Low-mode handle safety pin alignment issue with U2c bracket
16 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The safety pin for a low-mode handle may not align through both holes due to the low-mode handle component being installed backwards or rotated 180 degrees
- Rotating the low-mode handle post 180 degrees within the clamp can resolve misalignment issues
- Some low-mode handles were drilled incorrectly at the factory and may need a new hole drilled or replacement of the part
- The CRB bracket used with the low-mode handle can be the source of alignment problems
Depends on
- One user's solution involved careful disassembly and rotation of the post within a clamp, which may not work for all bracket configurations
- The drilling solution mentioned was for a specific handle that came pre-drilled incorrectly
- No clear consensus on whether the problem was always a manufacturing defect or could occur during assembly
