Lemo connectors on the ARRI Artemis sled: pinout, polarity verification, and powering low-mode monitors and Volt battery.

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • The Artemis sled features 3-pin Lemo power outputs; pinout details are found in the Artemis manual.
  • The Volt battery also uses a 3-pin Lemo connector.
  • Polarity must always be verified with a meter before connecting: some Artemis units (original Sachtler versus ARRI-built versions) have reversed pinouts, and one operator destroyed a monitor by connecting with incorrect polarity.
  • The 4-pin video connector supplies both power and video signal for transmitters and monitors, suitable for low-mode monitor operation; however, the video line connects to the SD input rather than HD input (unconfirmed).
  • Lemo half-moon shaped connectors are S-series; standard connectors are B-series; replacement connectors are available from Lemo distributors and reliable third-party manufacturers, and soldering is possible if pinout is known.
  • Ready-made Artemis generation 1 cables are available from a cable specialist in Munich; custom cables from another supplier; used cables from dissolved Artemis 1 rigs.
  • When in doubt, contact Tiffen or ARRI directly for clarification.

Depends on

  • Pinout varies between Sachtler-built and ARRI-built Artemis units.
  • Video connector video line function (SD versus HD input) remains unconfirmed.
