Eliminating squeaking noises from the lower section of a G-70 arm after impact damage

19 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.

What the thread found

  • A squeaking sound in the lower part of the first arm section of a G-70 can develop following a fall or impact to the equipment
  • Applying a small amount of fine oil or Teflon spray at the spring ends resolves squeaking noises in the G-70 arm
  • ACF-50 oil effectively eliminates squeaking and creaking sounds in the G-70 arm and provides long-lasting results

Depends on

  • The reported solution came from users without confirmation from manufacturer support
  • The arm continued to function normally despite the noise, so it was unclear whether the squeak indicated mechanical damage or merely required lubrication
