Artemis DV Pro arm suspension mechanism and weight specifications
19 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found
- The Artemis DV Pro uses an arm with dual-parallel-action design paired with gas-filled canisters for load balancing
- Interchangeable canister sets accommodate different payload ranges: light (11-17.6 lbs), medium (17.6-23.4 lbs), and heavy (22-28.7 lbs)
- The combined weight of the Artemis DV Pro arm and vest assembly reaches approximately 20 pounds
- The arm incorporates green rubber components inside that may create more friction than necessary
Depends on
- Sources conflict on whether the suspension uses springs, gas canisters, or both
- The magazine review may have contained errors or misprints about the actual mechanism
- The observation about friction from rubber components is based on personal testing from over 15 years ago
- Design details vary between what was shown at trade shows and what appears in manufacturer documentation
