Dynamic balance drift after removing dock from sled, caused by loose hardware on modular connector stages.
What the thread found
- When a sled's dock bracket is closed, dynamic balance may appear correct, but removing the dock to perform a full dynamic balance test reveals side-to-side imbalance.
- Loose fasteners on the blue ring connector between the top and bottom stages of a modular sled can cause significant balance problems and erratic behavior.
- An operator should check that all screws on both the dock and sled are fully tightened, and verify that the blue ring locking mechanism on modular stages is fully secured before performing dynamic balance tests.
Depends on
- Modular Steadicam® sled design with removable dock bracket and blue ring connectors.
