Mounting a Tiffen Volt sensorbox higher on an XCS U3 with 1.75-inch post to prevent fouling of the camera.
What the thread found
- The Volt sensorbox does not distinguish between High and Low Mode; mounting it inverted (upside down) produces no unusual behavior.
- Tiffen and third-party manufacturers offer brackets with two 15-mm holes aligned with the post rods, allowing alternative sensorbox placement.
- One operator designed a dovetail plate for direct Volt mounting, positioning the sensorbox nearly one inch higher and closer to the camera sensor than standard mounting.
- An alternative top stage from an accessory maker was also recommended for raising the sensorbox clearance on the XCS U3.
