Mounting a Donkey Box 3/2/1 on an MK-V camera sled

12 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.

What the thread found

  • The mounting holes on the MK-V post appear to be compatible with the Donkey Box 3/2/1 top stage configuration.
  • Installing a Donkey Box on an MK-V sled may require custom modifications including an adaptor for two 15mm bars, a C-Spacer for the post top, cable management adjustments, and longer screws.
  • When integrating a jbox with a Preston mount on the stage, the positioning can cause clearance issues with larger Lemo connectors, which may require either custom adapters or 90-degree cables as solutions.
  • Generation 2 electronics are confirmed to be compatible with DB2 systems on MK-V Nexus sleds.

Depends on

  • The exact compatibility depends on specific sled configuration and electronics version.
  • Cable routing solutions are dependent on individual connector types and their size.
  • Custom fabrication work from the manufacturer may be needed for proper adaptation.
