Essential accessories and backup equipment for a new camera stabilizer rig

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • Carrying duplicate cables and power supplies prevents workflow disruption when equipment fails during a shoot
  • An assortment of SDI/BCC cables in various lengths should be kept on hand, with preference for thinner versions
  • Power cables matching all cameras in the operator's potential roster need to be available
  • Adapter cables from the sled output connector to camera accessory power standards should be included in the kit
  • Organizing cables in labeled, identical cable wallets allows crew members to quickly locate needed items
  • Rain protection gear should be stored with the main rig for reliable availability
  • Basic hand tools like hex keys, screwdrivers, and wrenches are needed frequently during camera setup and teardown
  • All equipment should be clearly labeled with the operator's identification to prevent items from being misplaced on set
  • Practical needs and preferences become clear only through actual work experience

Depends on

  • Specific sled models may use different output connectors than mentioned examples
  • The recommendation reflects one individual's experience and preferences rather than universal requirements
  • Backup equipment needs may scale differently for operators with different camera inventories
