MK-V Level horizon stabilizer: specifications, plate compatibility, price, and comparison to Wave.

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • The MK-V Level is available in two base variants: one for modern Tiffen, Betz, and PRO top stages, and one for ARRI Artemis; a 3D-printed spacer enables mounting to other top stages such as EFP and Axis.
  • Weight is approximately 1 kg with a height of 50 mm; power supply ranges 9–36 V via 2-pin or 3-pin Lemo connector, requiring no proprietary cables.
  • GPI PRO swallow-tail plates have been tested and work well; production units are being distributed to over 20 testers worldwide.
  • The stated price is approximately 7,777 USD.
  • The MK-V Level maintains horizon stability effectively but reduces sled length and sacrifices some outer range of stabilization.
  • Some operators report vibration or trembling during abrupt movements.
  • The device has a flat, streamlined optical profile, described as a 'futuristic Wave.'

Depends on

  • Suitability during abrupt or dynamic camera movements remains contested among operators.
  • Whether the MK-V Level represents an upgrade over the Wave or serves as an alternative option depends on operational priorities and shooting style.
