Mounting a G70x arm on the rear socket block of a Walter Klassen vest (transition from Exovest, regular operator setup)
DisputedParticipants disagreed and reached no conclusion. Read the findings as positions, not as an answer.
What the thread found
- The socket block must be flipped to accommodate rear mounting.
- After flipping, the arm sits very close to a harness strap due to the kick-back mechanism (return stop).
- One operator recommends purchasing a longer kick-back stopper (GPI Arm Connector Stop), noting that the standard units supplied are too short for both front and rear configurations, positioning the arm too close to the operator.
- An alternative approach is to omit the kick-back entirely and use a solid socket block (available from Walter Klassen), as is standard with front mounting.
- Another option is to assemble the arm in goofy configuration (reversed orientation).
Depends on
- Choice between kick-back stopper replacement and solid socket block depends on operator preference and comfort.
