Sourcing and building an Arri 3 low mode bracket
22 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The Arri 3 low mode bracket was manufactured by multiple people including one producer and another named DeRose, but is no longer in production
- Only approximately 50 of these brackets were ever manufactured
- Some versions of this bracket only functioned properly on about 60 percent of cameras, with compatibility varying based on camera modifications
- A low mode bracket designed for Arri SR cameras is not suitable for Arri 3 cameras due to differences in video assist placement
- Reference images and disassembled photographs of an original bracket can be used as guides for fabricating a reproduction
Depends on
- The bracket is difficult to obtain and no longer manufactured
- Compatibility issues existed even among original examples depending on specific camera configuration
- The discussion does not establish which manufacturer's design is considered the definitive or most reliable version
