Static balance drift on MK-V Nexus sled with Betz-style top stage after 90/180° rotation caused by loose adjustment block.
What the thread found
- On a Betz-style top stage, an E-clip (retaining ring) sits between each adjustment knob and the housing; if one is missing, lateral play develops in the post-screw block.
- The remedy is to remove the knobs and inspect or replace the E-clips to eliminate play.
- Troubleshooting approach: document with photographs and disassemble stepwise, starting with the four countersunk screws at the base.
- The gimbal was ruled out as the cause after inspection by the gimbal manufacturer.
Depends on
- Procedure specific to Betz-style top stage design.
